Pacific Blue

Ocean Botanical Silk Scarf

Creation Story

Pacific Blue was created from the movement of kelp beneath the surface of the Pacific, where long fronds bend, drift, disappear into the water, and emerge again with the current.

Real ocean botanicals were arranged directly across the silk and printed with sunlight, allowing their actual forms to become part of the fabric. The deep Pacific blue moves unevenly across the surface, shifting from saturated blue into pale, watery areas where the silk almost seems illuminated from within.

Because the image is created through sunlight, water, botanicals, and weather, it cannot be reproduced exactly. Pacific Blue exists only once.

Offering

An exceptionally large, weightless silk designed to move between wearable art, dance, photography, and display.

Wear it draped around the body, wrapped as an oversized scarf or shawl, danced with as a veil, photographed in motion, or hung where light can pass through the silk.

The 5-momme silk is extremely sheer and responsive to air, giving such a large piece an almost water-like quality when it moves.

Each Taleria Delights ocean botanical silk is individually made by hand. Variations in color, botanical impressions, and the marks created through the sun-printing process are part of the artwork and make every piece completely unique.
